1960 oldsmobile super 88

Before I begin the story of this vehicle. I feel a need to explain my brief but memorable V8 history. Firstly, I’ve never owned one. All of these memories are from when I was a kid. My father had bought a 1964 Rambler Classic 660 - a model produced by American Motor Company, a company that no longer existed. This this was originally released with a 6 cylinder engine but along the way had acquired a 327 cubic inch small block Chevrolet engine. It was neither pristine nor in dire shape but to me it was the coolest thing in the world.
Before meeting Mark, my exposure to V8’s in adult life wasn’t irregular but nothing could quite match up to the magic I felt being in that old tired Rambler. Seeing this 1960 Oldsmobile Super 88 for the first time was impressive, but I didn’t truly appreciate what this car had to offer until actually sitting in the passenger seat for myself.
60+ years old and this thing has features that many cars still lacked in the early 90’s! The seats are electric. They still work, and they’re like a comfy sofa. The windows are electric and the aircon works. The brakes are even power assisted. This thing isn’t stock, it’s had it’s door handles and badges shaved. Access is achieved via a remote door popper. The paint scheme obviously didn’t come from the factory, but thanks to the foresight of the previous owner to use blue and black, the flame job stands the test of time.
It’s a classy old car, it sounds insane and it looks the part. If you’d like to hear and see this thing for yourself then you’re in luck!
